I was introduced to 4WDriving in 1994 doing trips, with friends, to Noosa north shore, Double island Point and Rainbow Beach. In November 1994 we hired a 4WD and spent a week on Fraser island.  1995 saw the purchase of my first 4WD, a short wheelbase 1988 Pajero, and more 4WD driving in the Brisbane area, including additional trips to Fraser Island

In 2000 I moved to Sydney and swapped the Pajero for a 2000 Grand Vitara.  There were plenty of 4WD trips with work colleges exploring Sydney and surrounds, extending to Canberra and southern NSW.  My first big 4WD trip was in 2001 with a 3 week trip into Central Australia.  More 4WD changes in 2003 with a puchase of a 2003 Challenger and a trip to Tasmania.

During late 2004 we started planning a trip to Arnhem Land and the Challenger was going to need major upgrades, a new 2005 Prado worked out to be a cheaper and better option.  The 6 week Arnhem Land trip was the first of many longer trips over the following years.

I met my wife in 2011 and our first camping trip together was for 3 weeks into Central Australia including 7 days down the Hay River with no facilities.  She definitely was a keeper :)
